Simple Process: Reframing Negative Mental Beliefs

Any time you experience negative emotions like anger, worry, jealousy, fear, loneliness, or despair, you’re responding to self-created statements in your mind. Common negative beliefs include:

“I can’t do it.”

“It’s too much.”

“It’s not fair.”

“I don’t belong.”

“I’m a bad person.”

“I don’t deserve it.”

“They don’t love me and don’t care.”

These statements are not true and were often unconsciously formed during childhood based on past experiences.

Steps to Reframe Your Beliefs

  • Recognize Your Negative Beliefs: Identify the negative statements you tell yourself.
  • Choose New, Positive Beliefs: As an adult, you have the power to select beliefs that resonate with you on a deep, intuitive level.
  • Practice Your New Beliefs: Write them down and read them before sleep and upon waking, when your mind is most receptive.
  • Feel the Positive Emotions: Connect with feelings of ease, joy, forgiveness, compassion, love, and appreciation as you embrace your new beliefs.
  • Visualize and Pretend: Imagine and feel as if your new beliefs are already your reality. Your subconscious mind accepts what you consistently imagine and feel.
