Hypnosis for PTSD

Hypnosis For PTSD: Focused Help

Post-traumatic stress disorder can leave you trapped in a state of constant alert. When your mind and body continually try protecting you from danger that no longer exists, the effects can include sleepless nights, intrusive thoughts, emotional numbness, panic, irritability, and extreme anxiety. Fortunately, healing from PTSD is possible with focused help.

At Achieve Health Center, I offer a gentle, drug-free approach to managing PTSD through hypnotherapy for mind-body healing. Hypnosis gives us direct access to the subconscious mind, where trauma responses live. My goal is to help you feel calmer, safer, and less on edge by teaching your nervous system that the one-time or ongoing trauma you experienced is over and that you are now in control.

How Hypnosis Can Help With PTSD

Trauma affects the brain’s wiring. It can keep you in a permanent fight-or-flight state, primed to respond even when there is no current threat. When you’ve experienced trauma, your brain becomes hyper-alert to danger, constantly scanning your environment for signs of harm.

This survival response may have protected you at the time, but when it stays active long after the immediate danger has passed, it can interfere with your ability to live a peaceful, connected life. Your body may respond to everyday stress as if it’s an emergency, making it difficult to relax, trust others, or feel secure.

Traditional talk therapy can be helpful, but it often works primarily with the conscious mind. Hypnotherapy goes deeper, gently guiding you into a profoundly relaxed, focused place where your subconscious becomes more open to healing and new associations. Once you’ve achieved this state, we can begin to:

    • Reprocess and reframe your traumatic memories without re-traumatizing you
    • Reduce physical symptoms of hypervigilance, such as a racing heart or muscle tension
    • Quiet intrusive thoughts and mental images
    • Address sleep disturbances and chronic anxiety
    • Help you regain control, calm, and safety

A Complement to Traditional PTSD Treatment

Hypnosis for mental health coaching can be incredibly effective on its own, but it also works beautifully in combination with other evidence-based treatments like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. If you already have a therapist or psychiatrist, I can collaborate with your treatment team to ensure you receive the most comprehensive support possible.

You don’t have to choose between traditional and holistic approaches. Often, the best results come from integrating both.

What to Expect in a Session

When we begin working together, I’ll take time to get to know your story, symptoms, and goals. Then, I’ll guide you into a safe and comfortable hypnotic state where your mind is calm and open to positive change. You will never lose control – you’ll only feel more centered and focused as we do the work together.

I will tailor every session to you. Whether your trauma is recent or long past, or stems from childhood, military service, abuse, or another source, we will take things at your pace. There is never rush or pressure – only a safe space to begin healing.

You Are Not Broken

PTSD may be part of your story, but it does not have to define your future. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for those who are open to exploring their brain’s natural healing capacity. I invite you to reach out if you are ready to feel calmer, stronger, and more in control. Together, we can reclaim your peace of mind.

What Colleagues and Clients Are Saying

NG

"The service and attention I received at Achieve Health Center was unparalleled. I greatly appreciated the professionalism and care that I experienced and would highly recommend the holistic health center to everyone that I know. Thank you to especially to Katherine Agronovich for all the care and support."

CK

“I came in to see Dr. Agranovich because I was diagnosed with diabetes and I was resentful and depressed. After a few sessions, the turning point for me was when Dr. Agranovich asked me, what was the opposite of illness? I realized it was wellness and from that point on, we began focusing on me being well. I enjoy our sessions because Dr. Agranovich provides me with a different ways to think and approach health. And now, as my body is resolving the imbalance, I know it was never about the diabetes, but about me knowing my wellbeing.”

AK

"I began getting night terrors with outbreaks of aggression and sleep walking and I couldn’t find help anywhere. Multiple doctors offered pills, but I didn’t want the side effects. So the problem persisted I began dreading going to sleep every night. I finally did two sessions of hypnosis and Reconnective healing and they transformed everything. Walking out of my second session, I was more relaxed and confident than I had been and for the first time in months I was excited to get some sleep. I was cured of my night terrors, and through hypnosis I discovered that my brain had the ability to overcome this problem itself.”

AB

"I am writing to say thank you for helping me with my performing anxiety. As a vocal performance major at UCI, I am expected to be comfortable singing in front of others whether it is in class, in a voice lesson, or in front of an audience. Without your help through hypnotherapy, I would not be pursuing my major. Thank you for giving me back my dream! I look forward to continuing to work with you to improve my concentration and memory.
