Anorexia Nervosa
Anorexia nervosa (anorexia) involves both physical and emotional traits. A person with anorexia is very underweight, yet the person severely limits the amount of food he or she eats, has a distorted body image perception, cannot maintain a healthy body weight, and is intensely afraid of gaining weight. Long-term or severe anorexia can lead to starvation, serious health problems, and even death.

Bulimia Nervosa
A person with bulimia binges by eating a large amount of food in a short amount of time, and in a couple of hours, purges by vomiting, over exercising, or misusing laxatives, diuretics, or other medications. A person with bulimia obsesses about their body shape and size and has poor self-esteem. A person with bulimia feels a loss of control during a binge. Left unchecked, this binge-purge cycle will eventually lead to serious health problems.

Hypnotherapy is a very efficient tool used for eliminating eating disorders. During a comprehensive interview and then while in hypnosis, the roots of the problem are discovered and addressed on both conscious and subconscious levels. The subconscious level of the mind is the inner computer recording all the life's experiences, feelings, emotions, traumas, other people's opinions and outside influences; it occupies 90% of our mind, like an iceberg, buried under the water and holding all our inner perceptions. We tend to act out those perceptions during our lives. In hypnosis we re-program the subconscious mind, installing new truths and implementing changes from the core of consciousness. Suggestions to modify body attitude and alter body image are introduced. Healthy self-esteem is installed. Healthy eating habits and supporting life-styles are addressed. Possible herbal supplementations may be recommended to support a new mind-set.
